Hi Soompiers!
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, but who needs Valentine’s Day when you can and should celebrate love, in all forms, every single day of the year? In Paradise, here on Soompi, shippers have an abundance of love to share, which is why we’ve brought back, for the third year in a row, the friendly contest that determines which couples reign supreme!
OVERVIEW
The purpose of this contest is to introduce newcomers to the wonderful shipping communities within Soompi. (Okay, okay! And to flaunt the reasons why your couple is the best couple!) So, show us your best writing, artwork, videos, and more because we want to know who your couple is and what makes them special! We’ll even display some of the best content on our editorial site to give everyone the chance to get to know your couple.
PRIZES
The winning teams will receive a special member status on Soompi which will be reflected whenever they post (similar to FOS status, but with your own chosen unique name and color). The winning shipper threads will also be pinned to the top of the Shippers’ Paradise section for ONE YEAR. As if that’s not already fantastic enough, we also have special banners and avatars customized for your ship!
In 2014, our winning teams were YongSeo and SoGong. Last year, the four winning teams were ChangMin, JjongAh, GoongJin, and JackJi. We have decided that while these teams may participate, they will not be eligible for the prizes this year.
INSTRUCTIONS
If your team is up for the challenge, you may enter the contest by replying in THIS thread with your couple’s name and thread URL. (Just once per team is enough!) In order to participate, however, your couple must have an active thread here on Soompi.
There will be FOUR rounds total, with a new thread opened for submissions each round. One representative from each fandom will add a post in the thread with the necessary content based on the current round. Only one post per team! Feel free to coordinate, contribute, and plan your content with your teammates in your respective threads.
The contest will have TWO CATEGORIES OF WINNERS: overall fan vote and staff pick.
Therefore, there will be FOUR WINNERS TOTAL.
ROUNDS
In typical Soompi fashion, we’re going to start off with a bang!
Members will compile their entries on the forums, but we will open voting on our news site. This means that we will not be counting votes on the forums for Round 1. The entries will be posted as an article, and everyone will be allowed to vote in Round 1, even non-Soompiers!
Round 1: Introduction and Smash Poetry
Entry Period: 2/19-2/24 (End of Day KST)
Voting Period (News Site Only): 2/25-2/29 (End of Day KST)
[Part 1] Briefly introduce your couple with their names, their first encounter, and their fandom name (if applicable), and up to three quotes that describes them and their relationship. The quotes can range from a section of song lyrics, lines from a poem, taken directly from the couple themselves, etc, but do not include entire songs or poems. Part 1 in its entirety should not exceed three paragraphs.
[Part 2] Compose a keyboard smash poem about your couple from one of the provided pre-generated smash letter set below. Each letter set contains 15 letters, derived from actually “smashing” (but not hulk smashing!) your hands, fingers, palms, and/or fist across your keyboard. Select the letter set of your choice and compose your poem using the letters in the order they are given. Do not add words. Do not delete words.

WINNERS
The fan voted winners will be chosen by audience vote: “Like” the post to cast your vote. The two posts with the most votes at the end of the voting period will win. Do not create new accounts to vote for your fandom and do not report posts in an attempt to alter their votes or your actions may lead to a permanent ban. The staff will be moderating heavily to ensure that participation is fair and respectful.
The staff pick winner will be chosen by the forum moderators and administrators: The staff will judge the content from all rounds based on quality and ability to follow the rules of the round and select two winners.
